Just imagine the excitement of attending a single weekend event featuring both a thoroughly fielded Civil War battle reenactment and encampment, and a Pre-1840 early American colonial frontier rendezvous within a short woods walking distance of each other.
Civil War activities include period sutlers, two battle reenactments, ladies tea, period fashion show, games for all children, candy cannon, pie and cake auction, Sun church service, and more. We are honored to host as our special guests, President Abraham Lincoln, author Mark Twain, General Robert E. Lee, and General Ambrose Burnside. Don't forget to visit our Pre-1840's Rendezvous, featuring over 100 period camps, and dozens of mercantile tents and food cafes.
All period reenactors, sutlers, and the public are welcome to attend. Pre-registration is requested. Gate fees from the public is prohibited, so we humbly ask our reenacting participants for a voluntary donation of $5 per person, or no more than $15 per family, which will be returned to you, or your unit as food rations for Sat. evening meal, and issue powder and caps to infantry and artillary, and cash reimbursements to the cavalry. A $25 sutler fee is required.

This 6 weekend living history event will include stage performances, choral groups, instrumental groups, parades, and vendors selling food and wares. We will be focusing on the entirety of the Age of Industry and Innovation that was the Victorian Era, and all parts of Queen Victoria’s realm. This is a great event for the whole family, with reenacting opportunities for those who wish to play everything from English and Irish working class, to military, to merchants, to high society! We will have a dance floor for ballroom dancing, with a live band, a working steam train, and a canal barge being drawn down the canal by draft horses. We are still looking for reenactors for our living history environments, and performers for our stage productions (both children’s theater and Gilbert and Sullivan). Prairie Creek Reservoir Park will host an Encampment and Living History weekend to Honor the father and sons who gave all to Preserve the Union. Home to Three companies of the famous Iron Brigade including Col. Samuel J Williams who gave his life at the Battle of the Wilderness in 1864.
Firewood, Straw, Water, Restrooms, and Saturday Night Meal provided for all Reenactors.
$25 fee for all Sutlers. Period music and other period activities being planned.

Allison’s Woods! The 30 plus acre rolling battlefield sits amid 1000
acres of pristine woods, lakes and trails. Open fields make it a
well suited site for cavalry also. Stoneman’s troops confronted
the Allison family on this site in 1865. Convenient to I-77
and I-40, we are located 50 miles north of Charlotte, N.C.
School Days will be held on Friday the 17th. Public, private, charter
and Home Schools welcome. Last year over 1500 students attended!

The weekend will be filled with various activities for young and old.
Ladies social on Saturday; Sunday morning worship service; children’s
activities; Civil War Sutlers peddling their wares; food from the Civil
War era and modern food available. Civil War battles on Saturday
and Sunday; live fire demonstration and Saturday night dance.
Powder bounties to first artillery units registered by August 15, 2010.

The military timeline has become very successful at this site. Reenactor
campsites are separated. WWII battles on Saturday and Sunday.

(Note: Attendance by invitation only this year, the 2010 is primarily for the benefit of students). 8th Annual Hancock Heritage Days will again happen just east of Findlay, Ohio very near the original training location called Camp Vance. The 21st and 57th Ohio Volunteer Infantry Regiments were formed & trained here. This is a Living History and Reenactment that has battles both days. Soldiers, Cannons, Military Ball, Living History, Tactical, Food, Live Music and much more. The location of this reenactment has lots of wonderful walking trails along the Blanchard River that have the appearance of roads from the timeframe. Truly a beautiful park! This will inevitably be the best event so far! Friday will also host a school day program with hundreds of local children.

Welcome to the Marianna Day reenactments. This year our program is better organized and will be more fun. We are planning a living history program, a Confederate memorial program, a reenactment on the original battlefield of Marianna, and two reenactments on the Chipola River, at Citizen's Lodge Park. Any subject relating to the medical or surgical aspects of the American Civil War era [1840-1880], treatment of the sick and wounded, or relating to any of the medical personalities of the era is suitable for presentation. We would also be interested in papers that would compare medicine in the Civil War with that of the Mexican War, Indian Wars or modern day treatment. Presentations, if selected, shall be limited to 45 minutes, followed by a 5 minute question and answer period. Abstracts must be typed, single-spaced and not to exceed two typewritten pages in length. Abstracts should embody not merely a statement of a research question, but findings and conclusions sufficient to allow assessment by a selection committee.
